Head, Public Policy, Government and Corporate Affairs

Matin serves as the Head of Public Policy, Government, and Corporate Affairs for Southeast Asia and South Asia at the leading travel technology company, Expedia Group. In this capacity, he holds the responsibility of offering strategic advisory on matters related to technology policy, while also providing support in the formulation of legislation at the intersections of the travel and technology domains for the regions of Southeast Asia and South Asia.
He was previously Deputy Director for Regional Public Affairs and Policy at Grab, and Strategy Director at the Tech for Good Institute, a policy think tank that focuses on advancing an equitable, sustainable, and inclusive digital economy in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining the private sector, Matin served in the Government of Singapore, with the Singapore Tourism Board, where he was involved in portfolios that included policy planning and strategy, industry development, investment promotion, and international marketing.
He holds a Master’s degree in Media and Communications from Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore. Matin is an ASEAN Youth Fellow and a Board member of several local charities and committees in Singapore. He currently also represents Expedia Group as the Chairman of the Travel and Tourism Committee for the US-ASEAN Business Advisory Council.
