Mr. Iqbal Jumabhoy is a renowned figure in the hospitality industry, with over 25 years of experience in real estate development and hospitality management. He currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at Prosper Cap Corporation Limited, where he is responsible for overseeing and determining the overall strategic positioning, investment, and business expansion strategies for the group. Prosper Cap Corporation Limited is focused on investing in and managing the operations of hospitality and lodging-related businesses.

In addition to his current role, Mr. Jumabhoy is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Edge Capital Pte. Ltd., an investment vehicle and consulting platform focused on the travel and real estate sectors since 2015. He currently sits on the board of several companies, including Continental Traders Pte. Ltd., SIG (S) Pte. Ltd., and 3dCerts Pte. Ltd.

Prior to his current positions, Mr. Jumabhoy has also held various roles, including Associate Director at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago from 1984 to 1987, Executive Director at Scotts Holdings Limited from 1987 to 1996, and Chief Financial Officer of The East Asiatic Company Limited from 1998 to 2005. He has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of several companies in the hospitality and real estate development industry, such as the Encorp Group from 1997 to 1998, the WIRE Group from 2006 to 2009, Rendezvous Hospitality Group Private Limited from 2009 to 2011, and SilverNeedle Hospitality Pte. Ltd. from 2012 to 2015.

In recent years, Mr. Jumabhoy has been instrumental in the founding and development of BlackBook Technologies Pte Ltd, a web and mobile platform designed to enhance the traveler experience through technology. He has leveraged his extensive experience in the hospitality industry to address common pain points faced by travelers, such as slow response times from third-party travel websites and the inability to redeem rewards on hotel loyalty programs. BlackBook aims to offer an end-to-end travel experience, including booking flights, accommodation, and tourist attractions, as well as providing a rewards program that allows customers to convert their points into rewards more easily.

His passion for innovation and his deep expertise in the hospitality industry have enabled him to create a platform that addresses the needs of modern travelers and offers a more seamless and rewarding experience. His leadership and contributions to the travel industry have been recognized in various capacities, including being voted Best CFO in Denmark in 2005 while he was at the East Asiatic Group of Companies.

Mr. Jumabhoy is an active member of the Asian Executive Board at MIT Sloan School of Management and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation. He is also a Fellow Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.

He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom and two graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States—an M.S. in Ocean Systems Management and an M.S. in Management from the Sloan School of Management.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Jumabhoy has a keen interest in travel and polo, having served as the former president of the Singapore Polo Club. He has represented Singapore in polo and previously in show jumping. His career and personal interests reflect a commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership in every endeavor he undertakes.
